The State Capture commission has seemingly steered clear from seriously probing the controversial R500 000 Bosasa donation made to the Ramaphosa campaign during the ANC’s 2017 leadership race.
The commission notes that this was not investigated in any serious way because the public protector had already looked into the matter and made findings. However that report was set aside by the courts.
It’s likely that the commission’s lack of interest in this saga will raise questions and skepticism from certain quarters within the ANC about the inquiry.
It comes as Bosasa managed to get a number of government contracts. The Zondo commission has noted that the company and its directors had no shame in engaging in acts of corruption.
