Western Cape Premier Alan Winde has broken the silence on the charges related to suspended Community Safety MEC Albert Fritz. The Premier confirmed that Fritz is facing allegations of sexual misconduct.
He explained that following consultation with the alleged victims, they’ve granted him permission to divulge the type of complaints against Fritz.
However, Winde reiterated that he won’t be publishing the names or forms of sexual misconduct to protect the victims that came forward. The Premier’s office handed over the case to Advocate Jennifer Williams for an independent investigation.
He adds that the option of laying criminal charges against Fritz remains on the table but is dependent on the outcome of the investigation.
