The South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA) has welcomed President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision to assent the Electricity Regulation Amendment Act.

While groups like SAPVIA have welcomed the move, President Ramaphosa’s decision did not bode well for other sectors. The association lauded the move as a momentous milestone, highlighting that the new legislation will open the energy generation market to suppliers and enhance competition which will be good for the energy business.
