A witness has placed the two men arrested for the murder of 12-year-old Ashwin Jones at the scene.
Redewaan Ostendorp told the Western Cape High Court that he saw the suspects, Enrico Slamat and Jonathan Solomons carrying guns towards the Uitsig Islamic Mosque in May 2019.
The suspects were reportedly in pursuit of Terrible Josters gang member, Naeem du Toit.
Jones and two other boys were guiding motorists to park near the mosque when the shootout ensued.
He sustained several gunshot wounds to his head, limbs and torso.
The suspects are charged with six counts of murder, attempted murder and charges related to unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
Both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
