An undertaker truck transporting more than 100 corpses stopped by traffic officials in Somerset West was believed to be overloaded.
On Saturday, City of Cape Town Traffic Officials pulled over a truck on Somerset West bridge, transporting 106 deceased bodies headed for the Eastern Cape. The corpses were Covid-19 patients set to be cremated.
The Western Cape Health Department confirmed that the driver had the necessary permits and documentation to transport the bodies and was allowed to continue his journey. The department says it didn’t anticipate any risk to the public due to the driver having the necessary documents.
