With summer here and more people taking that dive into the ocean there are concerns about just how dirty Cape Town’s beach water is and whether the data coming from the municipality reflects the real situation. This as Cape Town is known for its blue flagged beaches. But over the past year some beaches have had to temporarily close because of sewage spills. A criminal case has already been opened against the City of Cape Town for allegedly pumping too much sewage into the sea.
