The social activism and musical journey of Mansoor Jaffer

Mansoor Jaffer, a writer, musician, and lifelong activist for social justice, played a significant role in the resistance press during apartheid and started the Afrikaans paper ‘Saamstaan’ in the heart of Oudtshoorn.

Mansoor’s journey includes being held in solitary confinement, spending time in hiding, and working with various organizations to fight for equality and human dignity. After apartheid, he co-founded the Cape Cultural Collective, using music and poetry to promote social transformation.
