In December 2023, a few days before NGOs, land movements and communities went on a break, the Department of Human Settlements invited stakeholders to submit their comments on the white paper.

Stakeholders wrote to the department requesting for an extension unfortunately this was not granted. The deadline for the white paper is 31st of January 2024.

But what is the white paper?
