It appears that the Democratic Alliance (DA) is trying to capitalise on the false narrative directed at South Africa over its stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
This is the contention of political researcher, Ebrahim Fakir.
He was discussing the DA’s letter to the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, in which the party calls on America to send international observers to monitor South Africa’s upcoming elections.
But Fakir says that the DA heading to the US to make this plea should be seen within the context of America’s accusations claiming that South Africa had supported Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine.
Fakir contends that the DA is therefore trying to capitalise from the Lady R uproar, which should be seen as a deliberate delegitimisation campaign against South Africa.
