Imam Abdullah Haron was murdered at the hands of the Apartheid regime.
While his family and supporters have long held onto this truth, today’s judgement on the reopened inquest into his death has now scrapped the Apartheid regime’s claim that the Imam had died from injuries suffered from falling down a flight of stairs.
High Court Judge Daniel Thulare has ruled that the Apartheid regime be held accountable for the Imam’s death.
He based this assertion on the evidence provided by several expert witnesses who found that the Imam’s injuries were linked to torture, and poor medical treatment.
