The Taliban has officially announced the new members of its government.
Co-founder of the group Abdul Ghani Baradar will be the deputy leader and Sirajuddin Haqqani has been named the interior minister. However, there is no evidence of non-Taliban members in the ministerial lineup.
The Taliban’s Chief spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid says the group’s new cabinet is an acting government and will try to take people from other parts of Afghanistan.
Last month, the group seized full control of Kabul following the withdrawal of occupied US soldiers from the country.
