Syria has proven resilient in its stance against United States (US) imposed hegemony on Arab nations.

This is the assessment of Lebanese journalist, Maryam Saleh, who was speaking as Syria has been brought back into the Arab League after a more than 11-year suspension.

Syria had been one of the founder members of the group, but was ousted due to US pressure on other member states as the country battled insurgency.

While the battle continues, Syria, and other nations like Iraq, Iran and Lebanon have proven their resolve to resist Western-backed militants seeking to overthrow their sovereignty.

Saleh contends that the US has lost its grip on Arab nations, with even Riyadh courting relations with China.
