Suspected cocaine found at Nelspruit accident scene

A young man has been detained after more than R4million worth of suspected cocaine was confiscated during a minor accident in Valencia near Nelspruit.

Police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli says officers smelt a rat when they found that the courier vehicle had spilled about eight crates of a white powdery substance.

The K9 Unit and Hawks were called to inspect the substance which weighed about 11kg. Mdhluli says they are convinced the powder is nothing else but cocaine. However, tests must still be conducted. done. It’s suspected that the consignment was destined for places in Gauteng. Investigations continue.
