A South African-registered car with a tracker helped Zimbabwean police find and arrest a seven-member armed gang.

A KwaZulu-Natal registered Toyota Fortuner with personalized number plates was stolen from its owner in Murewa, near Zimbabwe’s capital Harare. According to News24, the seven-armed gang members attacked a family in Mascheke close to where the vehicle was stolen.

The suspects raided the house where a scuffle broke out, resulting in a 10-month-old baby being killed and its mother injured. The stolen South African registered vehicle was then used as a getaway vehicle.

Due to the car being reported stolen, a South African tracking company provided Zimbabwean police with the coordinates that led to the gang’s arrest.

The stolen vehicle was also recovered.
