Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented as of 9 pm this evening.

This is due to Eskom struggling to replenish its generation reserves after several breakdowns at its power stations. The power utility says the last-minute power cuts are to ensure that the lights stay on during business hours.

Residents have been urged to consult their respective municipal load shedding schedules.
