The family of Dr Natheem Jacobs is demanding that bail be denied for his alleged killer.

Sarah Jacobs, the sister of the slain Athlone vet, says they will oppose bail next week when Javon Williams makes a second appearance in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court.

She went on to thank the Garlandale community for their support, saying it has been an emotional period and the family has a long road ahead.

The 27-year-old Jacobs was stabbed to death when he tried to stop criminals from stripping his car.

Williams is believed to be part of a syndicate that targets vehicles parked outside.

Sarah also had a message for those involved in crime.

She says those who don’t belong in Garlandale, they are going to force them out and make the community safer.

Sarah was addressing the Garlandale community who braved the cold and load shedding on Wednesday night.

Locals took to the streets in remembrance of her brother.
