Six cash-in-transit robbers that failed to flee the scene of a crime in the Germiston CBD in Gauteng, were shot and killed by police.
It’s understood that the incident occurred at around 10am on Saturday morning. SAPS had swiftly responded to a report of a cash-in-transit heist in action. Upon arrival, a shootout ensued between the suspects and the police.
Gauteng Police Commissioner, Tommy Mthombeni arrived on the scene shortly after the ordeal and addressed the media.
He revealed that the suspects were travelling in a stolen vehicle before pouncing on the cash vehicle.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
