South Africa has experienced one of its most interesting and challenging political years since the advent of its democracy.
The continued disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in the country’s first-ever elections held during a public health crisis. Growing poverty, driven in part by the ever-increasing cost of living, has reached new heights, all while the country contends with rampant corruption.
