Instead of policing their respective community, SAPS members are having to police their own members. This is the sentiment shared by Police Minister Bheki Cele.

He was speaking following his visit to Gugulethu this afternoon following a deadly shooting that saw eight people gunned down yesterday. The deceased were attending a traditional ceremony when they came under attack by unknown gunmen.

Minister Cele says the ministry has allocated lots of resources to the Gugulethu Police Station due to the area’s high crime rate.
