The country’s high unemployment rate has given rise to several political parties cropping up.
Political analyst, Professor Bheki Mngomezulu says that people are seeing politics as the only option to ensure an income.
He says however, that this is affecting service delivery.
Mngomezulu has also noted that some of the larger parties do not offer much professional advancement, which leads some members to forming other parties, or standing as independent candidates.
But he says that while diversity in politics is good, it also waters-down the quality of services provided to citizens.
