South Africa’s Cabinet has voiced its opposition to the Palestinians’ right to defend themselves against occupation. This was revealed in the latest Cabinet statement, which condemned the Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, for launching Operation Al Aqsa Flood. Cabinet also appears to be confused about when Palestine was occupied by the Zionist regime, referring to a Two-State Solution based on the 1947 borders, which was one year before the Nakba.
The South African Cabinet has meanwhile condemned the Zionist entity for using what it termed “Hamas’ cowardice” to continue its genocide against the people of Palestine.
However, it is the Axis of Resistance, which in this instance is led by Hamas, that has sought to defend Palestinians from the brutality of the Israeli regime. The Palestinian Solidarity Campaign has meanwhile criticised the ANC-led government for being disengaged from the Palestinian struggle.
