Misinformation can drastically impact the integrity of a police investigation, and communities must stop sharing their unverified assumptions.

This is the warning from the chair of the Habibia Neighbourhood Watch, Naweed Mohammed. He was speaking after a 66-year-old woman was murdered in her Rylands home on Friday afternoon.

Mohammed has commended the police for acting quickly to contain the crime scene and begin the investigation. He however notes that fake news can be harmful to the victims’ families.
