INGREDIENTS
1 egg
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon vanilla essence
1 cup milk
1 tsp vinegar
2 heaped cups of flour
2 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
2 heaped tablespoon sugar
For the syrup
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1 stick cinnamon
Simmer until thick, bubbly and sticky
METHOD
Whisk together your wet ingredients, add in your dry ingredients, and knead to form a dough.
If the dough is too sticky add some extra flour.
Roll out thinly, on a floured surface.
(They do puff up) Deep fry until golden and dip in hot syrup before serving.
