The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) has urged parents who wish to apply for Grade R or a school transfer for their children for next year to not delay.
The plea comes as applications for Grade R and school transfer for the 2025 academic year are set open on August 1st.
Western Cape Education MEC David Maynier says certain criteria needs to be met before a parent or legal guardian can apply for Grade R. Parents applying online require the following supporting documents:
- Immunization card
- ID, birth certificate, passport, study permit or proof of application, or a police affidavit
- Proof of address or SAPS affidavit
