A prominent gangster has been killed in a suspected hit in Manenberg.

Police say the 32-year-old man from Woodstock was with a group of people gambling in Beatrix Lane last night when multiple shots were fired at him. The man sustained several gunshot wounds to the face.

The deceased is the son of Hard Livings boss Rashied Staggie who was shot dead in December 2019.

A case of murder is being investigated. No arrests have yet been made.

There is fear that this shooting will escalate the urban warfare on the Cape Flats.
