During this time, over 48 000 cars were involved in nearly 38 000 fatal crashes.
The study also conducted an analysis of the top 20 vehicle models involved in fatal crashes.
These showed that the Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Hilux and Toyota Quantum were involved in 43.2% of fatal crashes.
