The suggestion of the 2030 FIFA World Cup being hosted in Israel has garnered mixed reactions.
This, as FIFA President Gianni Infantino, along with other regional states proposed the idea during a visit to Apartheid-Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennett earlier today.
Infantino became the first head of the world football governing body to visit Israel this week. In response, the Palestinian Football Association (PFA) apologised for not hosting the FIFA head over their participation in Apartheid Israel’s event because it didn’t serve his declared message over the values of the international football system.
The PFA noted politicising sports won’t serve the cause of peace. So far, only Portugal, Spain, and China expressed interest in the proposal.
