Police have made breakthroughs in the three recent mass shootings in Khayelitsha.
In the latest a suspect has been nabbed in connection with the killing of five people in Endlovini. They were shot dead during the early hours of March 14. Police say they are on the heels of other known suspects allegedly linked to this crime.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s court today.
On Monday three people were apprehended for the shooting of five people in Mandela Park. Two were killed and three wounded.
A 35-year-old Thando Shuba is also facing charges of murder for the for the Enkanini informal settlement attack. Six people were killed in that shooting.
The motive for these attacks and whether they are linked are still unclear at this stage.
