Power has been restored to Bonteheuwel, Langa, Thornton, Epping, and its surrounds after two days of outages.

The City of Cape Town says its energy teams have repaired the vandalised high voltage power cables. It was followed by a phased power restoration.

The municipality, however, has warned that there might be short switch offs or tripping during the course of the day as the system works to normalise after the intense and large-scale shutdown.
