The Omani-brokered talks between the Saudi regime and the Yemeni resistance is testament to Riyadh’s failure to achieve its goals.
Geopolitical commentator, Dr Junaid Ahmed, was speaking as there is an air of positivity hovering over these ceasefire talks.
Saudi Arabia launched its military campaign in Yemen eight years ago, to install a Riyadh-friendly government.
However, it’s been met with resistance from the Ansarullah Movement and its allies.
Ahmed has meanwhile noted that while the Saudi regime has failed to reach its goals, it had imposed an illegal blockade of Yemen’s key ports, sending the country into deeper levels of poverty.
