A vigil in honour of the journalists who lost their lives in Gaza was held at outside the St George’s Cathedral on Sunday evening. Attendees included members of the media, pro-Palestine activists and the public.

Voice notes of Palestinian journalists from Gaza were played at the vigil, in addition to speeches from anti-apartheid activists and veteran journalists.

The vigil was held simultaneously with other vigils within South Africa, namely, Mary Fitzgerald Square Johannesburg, University of Kwazulu-Natal Howard Campus Durban and Drostdy Arch Rhodes University Makhanda.
