In the airy morning sunlight of Bo-kaap, muslims gather to perform Eidgah salaah on 11 March 2024. Eid al-Fitr is the celebrations of barakah, of fasting for 30 days, met with family and friend greetings. Eid al Fitr is also an auspicious day as many organisations raise funds, through Fitrah and Fidyah, to cook a tremendous amount of food to be distributed to those less fortunate.
