The unrest in Phoenix, KwaZulu-Natal is believed to be fueled by racial tensions between the Indian and Black communities. As it stands, the situation in the area remains tense following the riotous looting the province had experienced over the last two weeks.
Seven suspects have been arrested and are facing charges of murder, attempted murder, and damage to property. Residents are calling for an end to racism and have called on communities to unite in this time of need.
