The running of Parliament is under closer scrutiny. Probes have been ordered into allegations of irregularities as well as security breaches.
The Secretary to Parliament Xolile George indicates that the audit committee has raised red flags over the administration of Parliament. This while the Executive Authority of Parliament wants an investigation into the security breach and subsequent fire that occurred on the precinct in early January of this year.
The Deputy Secretary for Support Services, Baby Tyawa, has been placed on precautionary suspension pending the finalisation of the probe. George adds that this decision does not in any way imply guilt on her part.
These developments come as parliament is trying to rebuild following that devastating inferno which gutted among others the National Assembly.
