The Parkwood community is trying to find a way forward after murdering an innocent man.
The 30-year-old Abongile Mafalala was stoned, beaten and set alight by a mob.
Ward councillor Donavan Nelson says they want to start with forgiveness and reconciliation as well as assist the devastated Mafalala family. He was speaking as residents held an interfaith prayer vigil at the crime scene between Hyde Road and the M5.
It has emerged that gangsters who had robbed the e-hailing driver had instigated the mob attack claiming that he was involved in an attempted kidnapping.
Several arrests have since been made with Nelson indicating that stands in the range of 20 so far. Video footage has played a pivotal role in identifying those community members involved in this brutal attack.
