Orlando Pirates sides with Israel ahead of ‘friendly’ match

Football team Orlando Pirates will not be taking a stand against Apartheid Israel, and has defended its decision to go ahead with a so-called ‘friendly’ this week against Israeli team Maccabi Tel Aviv in Spain.

Pro-Palestinian activists had called on Orlando Pirates to hold true to its anti-Apartheid heritage and boycott the match.
