Opposition parties have voiced their surprise following the reinstatement of a spokesperson in the Presidency, Khusela Diko.

She was placed on a leave of absence from both her roles in the Presidency and government communications after being implicated in a multi-million rand PPE tender scandal with her late husband Chief Madizikane Diko.

DA spokesperson Solly Malatsi says it seems that Diko was given a soft-landing because the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) probe hasn’t concluded in terms of the court proceedings that acquitted her from wrongdoings.
