The Blaauwberg Nature Reserve is now protected under Heritage Western Cape. Situated off the Melkbosstrand Road and the R27, this declaration honours the long legacy of this area from the start of the South Western Cape ingenious occupation, the Blaauwberg War in which Muslims were given a piece of the land to bury their deceased during the Cape Colony War against the British.
