Post offices will no longer be paying out the R350 Social Relief of Distress as the new round of applications open.

Beneficiaries will need to receive this grant from one of the following supermarkets a Boxer, Shoprite, Checkers, Pick n Pay, or USave.

People will need to update their profile to indicate which retailer. This can be done on the srd.sassa.gov.za site.

Beneficiaries have been told that they must have their own cell number to withdraw the grant at supermarkets.

Lastly, they will be helped with the resetting of their PINs for their cards at the pay points.

SASSA beneficiaries who receive their pension, disability or child grants can still collect their money from any Post Office branch.
