South Africa would long be feeling the impact of the July unrest, which erupted as former President Jacob Zuma was imprisoned.
Newly-appointed Finance Minister Enoc Godonwana made his first appearance since taking the position in the National Assembly, providing the House with an overall financial and economic update since the mayhem.
However, Godonwana says it is still premature to determine the full impact of the unrest on the economy. Early estimates of the economic damage stood at about R50-billion.
