The DA is glaringly silent on the suspension of Western Cape Community Safety MEC Albert Fritz.
In a statement on Sunday night Premier Alan Winde announced that Fritz had been suspended with immediate effect after serious allegations related to his conduct were brought to him. The premier did not go into the nature of the allegations – only saying an investigation had been instituted.
Opposition parties have demanded that the premier play open cards and provide a full explanation for the suspension of Fritz who is a senior member of the DA in the province. The ANC in the Western Cape Legislature notes that the suspension was a very unlike Winde move therefore it’s clear that something is seriously wrong. The Good party has made a similar call saying it will end speculation.
