The 2021 National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams have kicked-off with practical exams.
Just over 10 000 matric learners have sat to do their Computer Applications Technology (CAT) exams. Tomorrow under 900 learners will do their IT practicals.
The Western Cape Education Department has appealed to the power utility Eskom to do everything to ensure that the electricity is kept on so learners don’t need to rewrite later this year.
The WCED adds that back-up procedures are in place but they are trying to avoid using them as they are disruptive to learners.
Provincial Education MEC Debbie Schäfer has called on politicians and others to behave during the NSC exams noting that this is the first Grade 12 class to spend their entire final year in pandemic conditions.
