A 24-year-old man has been killed and three others wounded in a suspected gang related shooting in Ottery. According to police spokesperson, Joseph Swartbooi unknown gunmen opened fire on the four.

Among them was a female. They were apparently sitting in a park when they were attacked late Tuesday afternoon. Swartbooi says Grassy Park’s serious and violent crimes detectives are hard at work pursuing leads in a bid to apprehend the perpetrators of this crime.

Ottery, Manenberg, Hanover Park and other Cape Flats areas have seen a surge in gang terror since late last month. It’s believed that a war over drug turf is fueling this deadly flare up.
