It’s suspected that the gang rape of eight women in Krugersdorp in Gauteng has elements of premeditation.

However Mogale Local Municipality Mayor, Tyrone Gray did not want to divulge much details saying they have been cautioned not to make any assumptions and to rather wait for the outcomes of the police investigation.

The young women were attacked last week while filming a music video in West Village near an abandoned mine dump.

More than 80 Zama Zama or illegal miners have since been arrested with police processing and analysing their DNA.

Gray says any mine dump is not safe adding that the council was not aware of this film shoot. He admits that the West Village community has been neglected for years but adds that this was by previous administrations.
