Former President Jacob Zuma remains hospitalized at the Estcourt correctional centre in KwaZulu-Natal. This, after Zuma, underwent a surgical procedure yesterday.

The Department of Correctional Services says it doesn’t know when Zuma will be discharged, and that he is scheduled for other medical procedures. The former statesman had been sentenced to a 15-month jail sentence for being in contempt of court after refusing to testify at the Zondo Commission of Inquiry.

Department spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo has appealed to the public to refrain from speculating on Zuma’s health status.
