It’s all systems go for the National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (Nehawu’s) plans to go on a full-blown strike at the South African Revenue Services (SARS).
Earlier today, the union briefed the media in Kibler Park, Johannesburg detailing its plans for the strike scheduled for May 25th.
The strike action comes amid a deadlock in wage negotiations. Nehawu Secretary-General Zola Saphetha says the union strongly believed SARS could meet workers’ demand of a 12 percent increase. However, they were met with a 0 percent offer.
