As the May 29 general elections draw ever closer, political parties are vying for our votes, promising better services, an end to corruption, and a general improvement to South Africans’ lives.
Many of these parties, however, claim to be on the “Left”, which is considered to be representative of the masses and inclusive. But the more they boast about these claims, the more we see the marginalisation of the country’s most vulnerable. So, is there really a viable left in South Africa?
