Long distance bus company, Intercape has rejected the South African National Taxi Council’s (Santaco) call for a meeting to resolve issues along the Eastern Cape’s routes.
Intercape says it will only honour Santaco’s invitation if the Department of Transport and SAPS are in attendance. It follows the taxi council saying that the Eastern Cape issue needed to be addressed as it cross-cuts with the taxi routes.
Intercape’s CEO Johann Ferreira accused authorities of not being keen on resolving the attacks on its buses allegedly at the hands of taxi operators.
