The ban on the hijab has extended to India. Outrage was sparked after a college in Karnataka province barred six Muslim students from attending classes while wearing a headscarf, saying it violated the dress code.
Protests ensued and the matter is being heard in the Karnataka High Court.
Meanwhile, an argument broke out between parents and a teacher outside Rotary school in Mandya after the students were asked to remove their headscarves before entering the campus.
One of the parents reportedly requested the teacher allow the students inside the classroom before they take off the hijab. With about 213 million Muslims living in India, why is there this level of growing discrimination?
