A young woman who accused her well-known Bo-Kaap grandfather and his brother of sexual molestation has questioned why some Imams are so dismissive when victims, or family members come forward.
In a second YouTube video, the woman explains that last year her brother went to an Imam in Bo-Kaap and made him aware of the abuse. But she says nothing was done.
She adds that this was not the only Imam that knew. In relation to criminal charges. She says because she isn’t in South Africa, she doesn’t get to lay criminal charges. She also says she doesn’t get to stay in the country indefinitely.
